Although their designs are inspired by classic antiques with beautiful patinas, Bliss Studio's point-of-view is ageless. They are as much eclectic as they are classic. Bliss Studio produces fine collections of historically inspired items including furniture, lighting, and accessories. Blending old-world detail with a distinctly modern point-of-view, they create designs inspired by the beauty and elements found in timeless antiques. Their aesthetic embodies a contemporary philosophy with an unwavering respect for the classics. At Bliss Studio, we employ a diverse range of ideas, materials and references, and often celebrate the enigmatic beauty of the unexpected.

The Pottery Wheel
Michael Chatterley opened the Pottery Wheel studio in 2004. His work has a simple straight forward design making it easy to blend in with any style. All of his pieces are handcrafted from high fire clay and lead free glazes. This allows every piece to go from oven, to table, to dishwasher!
Michael Chatterley has been an avid potter for eleven years. He attended Rhode Island College and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Not only has Michael built kilns for RIC and for a RI local pottery, he has also built the wood and raku kilns that produce the pieces on display.
Michael’s vision of opening a store that would offer hand- thrown pottery and also teaching others his passion through adult pottery classes came true after graduating RIC. Upon his parent’s retirement, he transformed their bicycle shop into a genuine, all-American mom and pop pottery shop.
We are proud to bring his hand-thrown, one-of-a-kind pottery pieces to Westport, Connecticut.
